The AVANTI CHANNEL is the culmination of years of planning to launch a unique destination for All Things Italian and Italian American. There is a passion among Italian Americans in the United States to maintain and celebrate their distinctive, multi-faceted culture. Our potential core audience is over 100 million viewers in the United States alone. Our research has shown that there is a passionate 25+ million Italian-American base, with over 70 million, “Italophiles”: people who identity with and seek out all things Italian. Avanti is the brainchild of Tony Ceglio, a multi-Emmy and Telly Award-winning Producer. Tony was hired as the first Film Director of the NY Football Giants, and in 1986, was elected Founding Chairman of the NFL Video Directors’ Committee among other accolades. Tony first created programming focused on the Italian marketplace with a cable channel that earned him many more Telly and Aurora awards and gained the Network carriage agreements with Comcast, DirecTV, Verizon FIOS and Mediacom. His vision has now moved to the OTT world as the Avanti Channel, an AVOD app distributed and available for free on all major OTT devices including Apple, Roku, Amazon Firestick, WebOS, and MobileOS. Co-founder, Tom Van Herwarde, has experience in all media including Digital, Film, TV, and Docs as Producer, EP and Sales. He created Golfrounds.com and SkiingUSA.com, which both were worldwide audience leaders in their respective sport. Golf Rounds.com, Inc., (a publicly traded company) provided daily reporting of sports news, sports travel content, interactive services, and e-commerce on branded web portals that was packaged for distribution on the top trafficked websites in the world. Tom as head of Dual-Media Co., has sold and placed many TV Series and documentaries, notably Sierra Club Productions “Ansel Adams, The Documentary”, has created original TV, and has produced and distributed feature films, and all this will come into play as the team curates and creates programming for the Avanti Channel.
