New in the Media Cloud: Live Events Endpoint for the LightcastAPI

We’re excited to introduce the new Live Events Endpoint for the LightcastAPI*, giving developers the ability to retrieve, create, update, and delete Live Broadcast Events programmatically.

This new endpoint makes it easier to connect Live Event workflows with websites, apps, and other custom integrations – giving developers more flexibility to automate event management through the API.

What’s New?

The new Live Events Endpoint includes four available actions:

Get Events

Retrieve a list of current or upcoming Live Broadcast Events for a Live Events Channel.

Use this to display event information on websites, apps, and other custom experiences.

Create Event

Create a new Live Broadcast Event on a Live Events Channel.

Update Event

Update an existing Live Broadcast Event, including:

• Title

• Description

• Start time

• End time

Delete Event

Delete a current or upcoming Live Broadcast Event when it is no longer needed.

IMPORTANT NOTE

The Live Events Endpoint is designed for individual Live Broadcast Events.

Create, Update, and Delete actions are not compatible with events using:

• Simulated Live

• Recurring (Weekly) Event Groups

• Social Media Restreams
